Meeting with the birds

From the month of March onwards, the abrupt cliffs of Cap Sizun are covered with sea birds. Kittiwakes, guillemots, cormorants and gulls can be admired by anyone out strolling.
Plus de 300 In the bay of Audierne, the birds are more discreet. Yet, over 300 species have been identified there. Its an ideal spot to watch the heron, the bearded reedling and the marsh harrier while respecting the environment to the full.

Brent geese, avocets, spoonbills and numerous small waders find their refuge for the winter along the river of Pont-L'Abbé, in the many acres of muddy ground and salt meadows uncovered at low tide.
When spring comes, the wooded banks house a colony of herons and egrets. On each one of these sites, local clubs will help you make the best of your visit.
